Frequently Asked Questions about the Mukluk Telegraph

What is the Mukluk Telegraph?

The Mukluk Telegraph is a quarterly newsletter published by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium for customers, employees and associates of ANTHC statewide. It includes news about ANTHC, and about health issues affecting Alaska Natives. We print 5,000 copies and distribute them to customers, tribes, and health care providers in the tribal health system statewide.

Can I get a copy mailed to me?

Yes, you can subscribe to the Mukluk Telegraph for free! (Requests for multiple copies will be filled as availability permits.) Click on the "Mukluk Subscriptions" link to the right, or send your name and address to:

May I quote from one of your articles?

Brief excerpts from copyrighted material are generally covered by the "fair use" doctrine, and may be quoted without explicit permission by the copyright holder. While the interpretation of "brief" varies, we take it to mean one or two paragraphs (or less), or a short block of text. Such quoting is welcome when it is for comment, criticism, news reporting, or academic uses. For more information on fair use, see the CETUS fair use index.

ANTHC asks that you give a full citation for any excerpted material, including the Web address for the full text version (especially if the material will appear online, either on the Internet or in an intranet maintained by your organization).

If you wish to quote several contiguous paragraphs or more, or to derive revenue from the quoted material, we would consider that republication. Republication is allowed only if the entire article is reprinted verbatim, with full credit to the author and source of materials. Please contact the editor for permission to republish Mukluk Telegraph articles.

Can I order reprints of articles?

We maintain only a few copies of back issues so usually cannot accommodate requests for reprints or photographs. You can, however, access complete PDFs of issues dating back to 2002 in our archives (see link at right).
