Alaska Statewide Maternal Child Health & Immunization Conference This conference, hosted by the Epidemiology Center on September 22 and 23 2008, provided a forum for pediatricians, ob/gyn and family practice physicians, private practice and public health nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, immunization coordinators and community health aides to network and learn about hot topics in MCH and immunization in Alaska. Population Projections for the Alaska Native Populations through 2030 and the limitations of the American Community Survey in Alaska Conference This one-day conference held April 24, 2008 was hosted by the Alaska Native Epidemiology Center in collaboration with the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the US Census Bureau. The agenda and an archive of presentations are available. Community-Based Participatory Action Training A two-day training on March 5-6, 2008 for Community-Based Participatory Action brought together Alaska Native Epidemiology Center staff and various respected community members. The training emphasized the importance of partnering with Alaskan communities to build capacity, and to create more effective practices by working collaboratively and sharing leadership.
