Hepatitis A Adult (age 19 & older) Vaccine Guidelines:

To receive Hepatitis A Vaccine a person must meet:

1 - One or more of these Risk Criteria:

- individuals with a chronic liver disease  (including Hepatitis B and C carriers)
- men who have sex with men
- persons who use street drugs
- persons who receive clotting factor

2 -Show negative immunity to Hepatitis A:

-screen or look for results of HAV-Total (formerly anti-HAV IgG)

***Remember: HAV-Total positive or reactive = immune, so no vaccine is needed.

Note: Hepatitis A Vaccine for children ages 2-18 is provided by the State of Alaska
