The Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Program works to achieve the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium’s mission and vision.

Alaska Natives are the healthiest people in the world

The program supports health promotion and disease prevention activities, programs and initiatives at the community, regional, state and national levels.  The program works with partners to enhance the breadth of health education, health promotion and disease prevention resources for Alaska Native people and their communities.

 

The ANTHC HP/DP Program:

  1. Recognizes successful programs in Alaska Native communities.
  2. Supports the Alaska Native Youth Olympic (NYO)Games with a water sponsorship at the state junior and senior games.
  3. Develops, adapts and disseminates health and wellness education resources.
  4. Refers individuals to data or program resources at ANTHC and elsewhere.
  5. Communicates opportunities to our regional partners for:
    • Funding and Grants
    • Training
    • Conferences
  6. Provides direct support and opportunities to our regional partners through training, conferences and activities.
  7. The ANTHC HP/DP manager chairs the Employee Wellness committee with meeting and activity coordination.
