ANTHC Immunization Program

The ANTHC Immunization Program works to coordinate tfribal immunization programs, educate tribal staff on immunization recommendations and vaccine-preventable disease, and advocate with outside agencies for the needs of tribal programs.

The goal of the ANTHC Immunization Program is to eliminate disparities in vaccine-preventable disease in Alaska Natives through immunization. During the past 10 years, we have witnessed tremendous progress in eliminating disparities:  hepatitis A disease has nearly disappeared, new cases of hepatitis B are rare, the rate of Hib meningitis has decreased over 98%, and pneumococcal disease has decreased dramatically.
