Technical Assistance for Cessation Programs The ANTHC Nicotine Research and Control program provides technical assistance to tobacco cessation grantees and tribal health organizations in the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective tobacco cessation programs in a health care setting. The United States Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guidelines for Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence (USPHS Clinical Practice Guidelines) will serve as the model for these programs. ANTHC is providing the technical assistance to develop and evaluate programs at Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation, Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Ketchikan Indian Corporation, Kodiak Area Native Association, Maniilaq, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, Tanana Chiefs Conference, Wrangell Alaska Island Community Services, and Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation. Within these programs, implementation of a tobacco dependence treatment program can vary. Here are some of the steps that will allow a Nicotine Dependence Treatment Program to be successful:
