Scattered Sites Program

When all of Alaska is the project area

Scattered Sites Program

Project: Serve approximately 60 homes with water and sewer services.

Unalakleet, Circle, Eagle, Ruby, Holy Cross, Ghost Creek, Manley, Nome, Ninilchik, Homer, Clam Gulch, Sterling, Funny River, and Ketchikan.

The color and variety of the Great Land is reflected in the names of the places we serve. For DEHE’s Scattered Sites Program, all of Alaska is the project area.

Every summer Scattered Sites brings new water and sewer service to approximately 60 individual, Native-owned homes across the state. What began as a service to a few of our clients on the road system has increased to include many clients and branched out to cover homeowners from

Ketchikan to Nome .

While construction and design challenges may not seem as demanding as larger projects, every site requires the same comprehensive environmental review process as an entire community. There are over ten entities and steps to oversee — from application through warranty. Add in multiple subcontractors and agencies per site, and you can begin to see the complexity and value of this service.

It’s a statewide program that’s available to qualifying applicants all across Alaska. Click here for an application.
