ANTHC $5,000 Scholarship Program
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Education and Development department awards five (5) scholarships of five-thousand (5,000) dollars per academic year in healthcare-related fields to full-time undergraduate students and five (5) scholarships of five-thousand (5,000) dollars per academic year in healthcare-related fields to full-time graduate students who are Alaska Native or American Indian permanent Alaska residents. ANTHC grants these scholarships as an integral part of its long-term strategy of providing the highest quality health care services to all Alaska Natives and American Indians. ANTHC graduate scholarships provide supplemental funds for graduate education for students with the greatest demonstrated need.
ANTHC Summer Internship Program
2008 ANTHC Summer Internship Program Dates: Monday, June 9 - Friday, August 8, 2008
ANTHC Education and Development department awards nine-week paid summer internships to approximately twenty-five (25) high school and undergraduate students and five (5) graduate students who are Alaska Native or American Indian permanent Alaska residents. ANTHC grants these internships as an integral part of its long-term strategy of providing the highest quality health services to all Alaska Natives and American Indians and providing work experience in a range of medical professions and support services including: finance, human resources, health records, computer technology, engineering, maintenance, and housekeeping.
Indian Health Service (IHS) Scholarship Program
The Indian Health Service (IHS) Scholarship provides selected scholarship recipients who are Alaska Native or American Indian permanent Alaska residents with paid tuition, related fees, a small amount for travel and books, and a monthly stipend for living expenses. IHS currently funds three (3) health career and allied health career scholarship programs:
- Health Professions Preparatory Scholarship Program - Section 103 (b)(1)
- Health Professions Pregraduate Scholarship Program - Section 103 (b)(2)
- Health Professions Scholarship Program - Section 104
Application Requirements
- IHS Scholarship Application and Required Forms
- Must be Alaska Native/American Indian and provide documentation of tribal enrollment or proof of descent from a federally recognized tribe
- Current Letter of Acceptance from selected educational institution listing declared degree or proof of application (Tip: There must be a letter of acceptance, letter of good standing, or letter of application from each university noted.)
- Official Transcripts from all colleges attended or high school transcripts if less than 12 college credits have been earned (Tip: To be considered official, transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from the educational institution.)
