ANTHC Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic offering Mindfulness and Healing Complicated Grief groups in June

May 24, 2022

The ANTHC Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic (BHWC) offers counseling services for our Alaska Native and American Indian patients across Alaska. This includes a variety of groups that you can access from the convenience of your personal computer or smartphone.

To register for a group or to learn more information about the services available, call (907) 729-2492 or visit www.anthc.org/bhwc

The BHWC is currently inviting adults to register for two special group series that begin in June.

Healing Complicated Grief: June 7 – August 23

Tuesdays from 4-5:30 p.m.
via Zoom

This group is dedicated to those grieving the death of a loved one and finding that their grief is significantly impacting their daily life.

In the provider-led group, members will identify “stuck” points, learn strategies to address them, practice activities to help adjust to the loss, and build relationships with others who have a shared experience. The small support group is closed, meaning after the initial group members are identified, no new members will be added.

Mindfulness for Health & Resilience: June 20 – July 8

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 – 8:45 a.m.
Via Zoom

Over the course of three weeks, group members will have an opportunity to learn about the benefits of mindfulness and engage in a routine of practices to support their overall wellness. No experience necessary though a commitment to attending all sessions is required.

In addition to these two group series, the BHWC also offers drop-in groups on a variety of topics. For more information or to register, call 907-729-2492 or visit www.anthc.org/bhwc.
